As we know the war with Iraq is very unpopular and is getting more unpopular ever day, as a result Congress is expected to cut troop levels, today top U.S commander Gen. David Petraeus will go to Congress and will voice his concerns and say not to the proposed cuts.
An unnamed U.S. official has said that he expects Petraeus and also Ryan Crocker the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq to argue the point about major pullouts of U.S forces in the region, he believes that they will say that the pull out will hurt the progress that they have made since troop numbers increased, so if they were to be cut it would have a profound effect.
Gen. David Petraeus will recommend to Congress today that any decisions on major troop cuts should be delayed until March 2008.
