The Mid-America Bank after having very recently been taken under new ownership, that being the likes of the National City Corporation have recently announced plans that include cutting 390 jobs by early next year.
Mid-America isn’t just a run-of-the-mill bank, operating 82 branch offices throughout Chicago and near Chicago. This is bad news as a significant number of people will be affected; the job cuts that are said to take place in February, represent about 19 percent of the work force of Mid-America Bank.
Could this whole situation be a direct cause of the spills of ammonia in a Kansas creek a few days ago?
