Michael Barrymore’s Fate Over Pool Death

Michael Barrymore will not face any charges over the death of Stuart Lubbock in his swimming pool in 2001. The Essex Crown Prosecution Service has advised, ‘No-one should be charged with any criminal offences following a re-investigation into the death of Stuart Lubbock, who was found dead at Michael Barrymore’s home in 2001’.

We reported earlier that Mr Barrymore had arrived to answer bail at Harlow police station, where he faced further questioning. The police have been given a further 12 hours to hold the entertainer, but his lawyer has confirmed that Barrymore “has not been charged with any offence”.

Barrymore had expected to hear today whether he would be charged after Mr Lubbock was found dead in his swimming pool six years ago. Barrymore was arrested in June on suspicion of seriously sexually assaulting and murdering the 31 year old. He was released pending further inquiries.
