Fuel efficiency to be main focus at Frankfurt Motor Show

As we gear up for next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show, one of the main areas that will be focused on will be fuel efficiency. You will notice this as vehicles are getting lighter and the huge improvements to the internal combustion engine; these are just two areas which improve the fuel efficiency in cars.
As we are under threat of Global Warming car makers have decided that they need to change, as consumers become greener. As we said some car makers have gone down the route of making their vehicles lighter and improving the gas engine. Other car makers like Toyota concentrate on their hybrid vehicles, and then BMW concentrate on their Hydrogen engine.
Biofuel is also another area that will be featured heavily at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but if you are expecting a revolution in the auto world then you will have to wait a few more years yet.

This has to be a good thing. There is little point in people switching to biofuels (which are very resource intensive — it takes as much corn to fill a gas tank with ethanol as it would to feed a person for a year) and putting them into inefficient vehicles. But Europeans, who generally pay quite a lot for their gas get fuel efficiency. Now if this were a story about the Detroit motorshow and much tighter CAFE regs then, that would be worth reading.
