Disney Backs Vanessa Hudgens After Her Apology For Nude Photo
High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens apologized on Friday for a nude photo of her on the Web and Walt Disney Co. said it was sticking by the performer which is good to hear.

Some parents of her young fans voiced dismay over the photo, which showed Vanessa who is 18 smiling and standing naked directly in front of the camera.

Vanessa said that “I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me, I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends.”

Disney issued a statement and said it hoped that Vanessa had learned a valuable lesson. “Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment.”

A Disney representative said the photo would not affect its decision to cast Vanessa in the third film of the “High School Musical” franchise and that negotiations for the cast and creative team were continuing.

In a Teen magazine interview released earlier this week, Vanessa described herself as “a very private person” with “very good morals” who enjoyed serving as a role model.

“I’ve been brought up with very good morals and I’m not going to go out and do something I don’t want other kids to do,” she said in the article.

Other news High School Musical soundtrack debuted at No. 1 on national album sales charts, where it has remained for the past three weeks, selling nearly 1.2 million copies.

Vanessa was my role model, and just cuz she apologized does not mean half of her fans will ever be able to look at her again. I have taken all posters of her out of my room.

Okay, she already apologized and still, you can’t seem to forgive and forget. You have no heart! Besides, she did not need to apologize at all. If half of her fans never look at her again, then they’re not really true devoted fans, are they? True fans would never lose an idol over this incident. I blame the parents more. They teach their kids about shame and how nudity is wrong and all that. If I ever meet such a parent like that, I will knock his lights out!

  9. David says:

You wanna know why she did not need to apologize? Because a nude girl does not need anything to hide. Vanessa shows what the female human body looks like (to those who have no clue!) and it’s not immoral. It’s not indecent. Ever hear of something called nudism or naturism? It’s natural nudity that is not sexual in natural and can be practiced by individuals of all ages, from infants to old people. Nudists, as they are commonly referred as, do not judge a person by how big or small they are in body size, nor whether or not they have scars or any deformaties whatsoever. If Vanessa was at a nude beach with naturists, they would not care that she took a nude photo. Look at her nude picture carefully. Is she rubbing herself between her legs? Is she licking her lips in a seductive manner? Is she trying to beckon you into the picture? If the answer to 2 or more of these questions is “no”, then shut the hell up about her photo being wrong and calling her names! How’d you like it if I called you names?
