My recent post concerning whether Ron Paul’s popularity was at stake or not with his recent stabs from the media has indeed had a very definite response from Dr. Paul’s army of supporters.

The post, which can be read here, well into 100+ comments all of which are in his defense can indeed clear up that in no way is his popularity dropping with some comments giving the impression that the Fox News treatment has strengthened their vote for him.

The comment given by James shows a different view on the points made in the article which I find interesting:

James

Sorry, but your post is only partially correct.

Regarding Ron being a hypocrite. Yes, this is true, but he is less of a hypocrite then guys like Romney.

Regarding Ron being an opportunist. Sure, this is also true. But on the other hand, who isnt?

Ron has explicitly said he does NOT believe that 9/11 was an inside job. So, I don’t think saying he believes is conspiracy theories is correct.

Regarding consitutional rights of child predators…well this is a tough one, it may be that he’s interested in maintaining the due process rights of all criminals, as guaranteed by the consitution.

Safer without the CIA. I don’t think he’s a big fan of the CIA, but he recognized the importance of intelligence gathering.

Regarding saying that Iran has no military, well. I don’t know about what Ron said, but you might consider the fact that Iran’s military is probably not capable of serious harm against America.

Ron does not support the war. Its only natural that he would vote for it. — Theres very little to like about the war in general and a vote to defund it seems imminently sensible. Saying he doesn’t support the troops is nonsense if you look at his record of veterans affairs.

Thanks for an interesting post!

Best,

James

It is extremely clear that Ron Paul, even though he may not be the most popular candidate in the odds of betting, sure has some worthy supporters that will stick with him to the end.

Personally, even after all the comments given showing how wanted he is, I do find it hard to see him ever reaching the goal of president of the states. However, if there was a title for the president of the world wide web, we can all clearly see that Ron Paul will have grabbed it by now. Why do I say this?

Randy

I am a Canadian. I wish I was a American just so I could vote for this great man!

With hundreds of comments along the lines of this, it’s pretty hard not to.

Are you a supporter of Ron Paul? Do you think he has the potential to become the President of the States?

Whether he has the potential or not, the internet loves him- fact.

In your last post, you listed some “facts” and then linked to http://www.ronpaulexposed.com to back them up. I have to tell you, that site is pretty pathetic. It used to claim that Ron Paul was a “9/11 Truther” until that was exposed as a blatant lie (see http://www.ronpaulunexposed.com) and now claims that he “believes in conspiracy theories.”

I think that 90% of Americans believe in conspiracy theories in one form or another, whether we’re talking about the JFK assassination or other questionable events in U.S. history. With the release of the CIA’s Family Jewels, and specifically the details of Operation Northwoods, it’s pretty clear that there actually are conspiracies, and we are justified in being suspicious of our government. (Note that I am not a 9/11 “truther,” but I do think we need a better investigation that actually identifies failures and investigates the sources of al Qaeda’s funding.)

In this post, James agrees that Ron Paul is a hypocrite, though less so that other candidates. The specific claim of hypocrisy stems from his supporting term limits, but having served 10 terms as a Congressman. The fact is that Paul voluntarily gave up his Congressional seat in 1984, then was reelected in 1996 to serve a different district. As further evidence of his non-hypocrisy, he has refused his rather lucrative Congressional pension, and also returns a portion of his annual budget to the treasury.

You also repeated the claim that Ron Paul a political opportunist, which again originated from ronpaulexposed.com. That site would have us believe that because Ron Paul ran as a Libertarian in 1988, he is somehow opportunistic. The fact, though, is that Ron Paul was elected to Congress in 1976 as a Republican, ran as a Libertarian in 1988, then was reelected to Congress as a Republican in 1996, and during all this, his positions never changed. That isn’t political opportunism. Political opportunism would be changing your position on the issues depending on whether you were running, say for Governor of Massachusetts or President; political opportunism is capitalizing on a national tragedy to increase your name recognition, fatten your bank account, and give you credibility as a great leader.

Some inconvenient truths: Clinton, Giuliani, Thompson, Romney, Obama, Biden, Edwards, Romney, McCain: all are members of the CFR (the Council on Foreign Relations). Ron Paul is not. This is significant.

The CFR has, since the 1920s, undermined the sovereignty of the United States, and continues to do so by the U.S. involvement in the U.N., GATT, the WTO, NAFDA and the likely North American Union. Thanks to the CFR, our country is in shambles, by design. As former CFR director David Rockefeller writes in his Memoires, not only is the objective of the CFR a one world government, that he is “proud of it.”

At the moment, our borders remain open, Mexican trucks are heading into the heartland, the dollar is weak and our economy is in deep debt to the Peoples’ Republic of China (to the tune of $3 billion per day). The CFR, and its parent organizations, The Tavistock Institute (London) and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (London) have wreaked great havoc, and have gotten away with it. So far.

Therefore to support a CFR candidate (incidentally President Bush and President Clinton, and Bush senior) were all members, is to support the ending of our sovereign United States and way of life. This is not good, in my opinion. Of course, the CFR’s web site would have you believe they are in the business of cultural and educational programs, dedicated to improving the lot of humanity. If you buy that, then you probably believe that the Corleone family are in the olive oil business.

Our great country is at a crossroad…. either we continue upon the same road of destruction or we see history and realize we have to make a change to keep America great. We need a president like Ron Paul! If you:

    - Want to stop spending billions of dollars to build bases in other nations and police the world.
    - Agree to get rid of the I.R.S. and big government spending.
    - Agree that the federal government should not take up to 35% of our paycheck and put money into social security, which would be bankrupt within 30 years.
    - Agree that we need to address and solve our own issues before we go and try to solve the issues of other countries.
    - Agree that the government’s only purpose according to the Constitution is to protect liberty and freedom of the U.S. Citizens.
    - Agree that we should pull our troops out of Iraq and focus on the group that attacked us on 9/11 ( a.k.a. Al Qaeda).

    - Disagree with the National I.D. Card and other “methods” of carrying papers.

    - Agree that to solve the problem with illegal immigration is to:

-No child born of illegal immigrants should be granted automatic citizenship ( a major motivation factor for illegals).
-No path to legal citizenship ( if you break the law of the country you want to be part of, how can anyone think you would obey the laws if you were a citizen.)

….Then you should think about Ron Paul!

    Vote Ron Paul!

Interesting that you would say Paul is president of the Web. That must mean that Romney is president of the TV. Who the hell cares what the media format is? The Internet is massive and nearly everyone in the US is on the Web. Saying someone is president of the Web is probably more significant than saying someone is president of the TV, especially since I don’t watch TV.

Interesting that you would say Paul is president of the Web. That must mean that Romney is president of the TV. Who cares what the media format is? The Internet is massive and nearly everyone in the US is on the Web.

According to the results of a recent online survey conducted by IBM, television sets are losing ground to the internet when it comes to personal leisure time. 19 percent of all respondents stated that they spent six hours or more per day on the internet versus 9 percent of respondents spending the same amount of time in front of the TV. 66 percent responded that they spent one to four hours in front of the television versus 60 percent on the internet.

    Read this for facts –
    http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2007/08/23/tv_vs_the_internet_internet_wins/1

Thus, Paul has a MASSIVE and VERY REAL following and the data is there to back it up. Now go pinch a loaf, data dope.

  9. Joe Lawson says:

They said the same thing about Clinton when he first ran, who is he and he doesn’t have a chance. I am glad Thompson got in, its true he will spread the Neocon vote even thinner. I think Ron has 50/50 chance to win the Republican nomination. After that it would get interesting. I think it could happen if a Bloomberg type gets in the race as an independent.

I was flying back from a trip the other day, wearing a Ron Paul t-shirt and 4 flight attendants came up to me and told
they are voting for Ron Paul. When stuff like that happens I see a momentum shift for Ron Paul.

I do believe the shift has happened and momentum is now moving fast Ron Pauls way. Can they stop it, I don’t think so unless some major attack happens.

Even though you may or may not now understand this…

You still need your mouth washed out with soap and a good spanking! and if your mommy isnt willing I am sure someone else would be.

I hope you don’t think this is a Revolution against Britian?

    God Bless America!
