Sony Ericsson W580i Reviewed: Sleek, Compact, but Inconvenient

When it comes to designing the coolest looking phones on the market, Sony Ericsson can sit back and relax knowing that they really are the pros. Their successful lines of walkman and cybershot range of handsets managing to get the perfect balance between specs and size really shows they know what they’re talking about.
The Sony Ericsson W580i boasts a really sleek and attractive, easy-to-use design, failing in no ways when it comes to appearance. The handset has great call quality too, however it’s still a far way away from achieving the clarity that the Motorola line has managed.
Having praised the call quality, a negative point is that at the highest volume levels the music sounded tinny and unclear, which is not what we expect when it comes to a Walkman phone. The keypad buttons are also placed badly and will take some good getting used to.
The final conclusion is that the Sony Ericsson W580i is a good attempt at a second slider. If you’re looking for a great looking slider and don’t mind the faults, this is for you.
