Sony Ericsson PlayStation Revealed In Patent: New PSP Phone Coming February?

As a follow up to our previous post concerning the ‘PSP Phone’, which can be read here, we can now confirm that rough dates have been revealed with all the fingers pointing at a most probable February release, Q1 being an inevitability.

This would actually make a lot of sense, considering Sony Ericsson usually throw out their most successful line of Walkman and Cybershot handsets at the beginning of the year, so a Sony PlayStation branded line at that time wouldn’t be too shocking.

We also have reason to believe that the phone will have motion sensors and by the look of the patent, it’s obvious that they will be used to ‘flip’ the screen around to landscape, similar to the iPhone.

We’ve seen many people try this before in the past an fail, terribly. An example of this is the ugly n-gage series, which didn’t manage too well.

When do you think Sony will release the phone? Will they take their time or rush it for the new year?
