JVC may have got in early with the budget camcorders, but Sony certainly aren’t scared of invading any market, with reason too. The DCR-SR72E is one of five standard definition hard disk-based camcorders Sony currently has available in the UK.

Design-wise, the camcorder is small, cute even and impressively manages to pack a 60GB hard disk too for all that video recording. At the end of the day, the Sony DCR-SR72E is a budget camcorder and is only there for people with… budgets.

Manufacturer Description:

The Sony DCR-SR72E, a high-range model, has also been upgraded to 40GB HDD capacity from current 30GB, providing space to store up to 28 hours of video.

At it’s price, you’ll struggle to find anything that looks as good as the Sony DCR-SR72E. However, if you’re all specs you’re better off looking elsewhere.

What do you think of the Sony DCR-SR72E? Which camcorder would you recommend?
