Today, the “Ron Paul Meetup Group” hit an astounding 5,000 events! The groups are consistant of supporters of Ron Paul, without any assistance, knowledge or aid from the man himself or his campaign staff.  Over time the events are becoming more sophisticated and grand. Several months ago there may have been the occasional Ron Paul for President bumper sicker or street poster, but now there is everything from the National “Paint the town Ron” campaign to Walk-a-thons to National Television Commercial days! The rate f newj oining members has recently spiralled upwards, to an average of nearly 800 per day! It is predicted that he will have approximately 100,000 members in the Ron Paul Meetup Group!

Are you a fan of Dr Ron Paul for President? Or perhaps you agree with the views expressed here?

What is it that you think gives Ron Paul this popularity? His policies on the internet? Let me know! Personally I don’t think he’s that great…

He is gaining a snowballing support for
    “Walking the Talk”
He says today what he has always said (no flip-flops)
and does what he has always done:
adhering strictly to the terms of the
    Constitution of the United States
and rejecting those measures which are unconstitutional.

He voted against the war in Iraq then
and he wants it ended now and has never wavered.
Period – no if, and, but or other conditional shenanigans.
He wants to end the American governments interminable
    meddling both abroad and domestic.
And every single point he utters is strictly along
    constitutional guidelines.

This crystal clear message remains lost on those
who get all wrapped up in the cosmetic presentations
of the powers that be but it is becoming increasingly clear
to all of us that the rest of the pantheon of American
presidential candidates are merely puppets of convenience.

This is why lots of people want Ron Paul president. If the MSM gives him any opportunity to talk, he fields the questions out of the ball park. This is one of his top 10 best speeches during a campaign and the link below is just under 40min. http://www.freedomsphoenix.com/Find-Freedom.htm?At=023431&From=News
I bet once you start listening to him, you will not stop the video until he is done with his speech. Especially if you are a US citizen and you are aware of the faux crap that is going on many levels here.

ron paul rules the internet and has the best grass roots thing going.

To understand his policies, just read the Constitution.
That is why we love him and he will be the next and best President!

Thanks for writing this article. Great to see all of the interest. To be brief in my support of Ron Paul, all of the other candidates (particularly the top tier) represent electing a different face on the same sick head. Americans are tired of having only diet Pepsi and diet Coke as choices in presidential elections. In my eyes, this video summarizes
    it best for me:

anyone can see this country is going the way of rome and many other world ruling empires. the reason paul is relevant is because americans can finally see our souvernties fade away and paul is the only candidate that adresses this problem. the reason the other candidate are not having the sucess paul has had is because paul is a pioneer in this fight paul has been fighting this fight, most of the times alone, every since he started his political career so you have to know he is sensers. the other candidates broke the golden rule, they put their trust in the government or either they are complicit. all great patriots warned about trusting government and paul fits that mold. we need a patriot to restore our constitutional repulic not a self serving politician or movie star.

You do not have to agree with everything he believes about the role of government to support the man.

At least he is the one candidate which has beliefs which are discernible, honest, and consistent.

The most important beliefs on based on facts we all can support: nonaggression and a fiscally responsible approach to government.

That’s enough to get my vote.

Yes, I am a RP supporter.

For why he’s popular, please my post here.

I’ll answer that by using Dr. Paul’s own words: Instead of telling us what he will do for us he says this:

“Here’s what I don’t want to do for you:
I don’t want to run your lives,
I don’t want to run the economy
I don’t want to police the world”

So I started thinking about all the other things Ron DOESN’T WANT TO DO FOR US:

Ron doesn’t want to collect taxes on our labor.
Ron doesn’t want to draft us or our children to fight & die to expand the “empire”.
Ron doesn’t want to spy on us, or our e-mail & phone calls.
Ron doesn’t want to ID chip us or our animals.
Ron doesn’t want to devalue our money.
Ron doesn’t want to take away our vitamins, supplements & our right to the health care of our choice.
He doesn’t want to meddle in our children’s education.
He doesn’t want to see us groped and insulted at the airports.

I could go on, but you get the idea. Think of something that the government does to you now that you wouldn’t want done, and he doesn’t want to do it. THAT’s his appeal.

Ron Paul is the only upholder of the Constitution in this disastrous age. I vote for freedom.

Ron Paul is our LAST SHOT at being totally free people. Enough said.

  • drbromley@excite.com

Dr. Ron Paul is the only candidate running for president that is for the people, therefor he will be elected by the people. Other reasons, No more killing of mankind and beast, No more being a slave to the IRS, We want our Constitution back, We want our rights back,
No more propaganda, Equal rights for everyone, Secure our borders, No more illegal immigrants, The truth about 911, and that is just for starters.

    Interesting guy, this Ron.

I hope he gets into the next administration as a president or the vice president. He would be kind of refreshing to the business of politics.

    Yours Sincerely.

After learning about Ron Paul, i will admit, for the first time, i was proud to be an American. I’ve donated $150.00 to him, and i am doing all i can to spread the word. Ron Paul has my vote.

  • sid sargent

It is very strange the way people who would ordinarily be reasonable..get so upset when they hear about Ron Paul.
How dare he suggest that we have a right to be free? Does that mean we aren’t really free now? This is blasphemy! The truth hurts, but the lie will kill you. If you want to go on fooling yourself, just keep on keepin’ on believing the propaganda that we are “the greatest country on Earth” and that those “terrorists” over there “hate us cause we’re free.” and if “we don’t fightum’ over there. we’ll have to fightum’ over here”
Hey! Ron Paul isn’t the first one to say “maybe we don’t need to fightum’at all” Maybe if we would mind our own business and let others mind theirs……Those who have given up their dreams will surely discourage yours. I have a dream and it’s ron paul for president. go for it!

  • SmokinJoe

Even though I am against much of what Ron Paul preaches, I will still vote for him. Sure back in my youth I read Atlas Shrugged and thought as Dr. Paul does. Then I traveled the world and saw first hand the necessity of social programs. We have only to look in our own backyard to compare our two neighboring countries. Canada is heavy on social programs and Mexico is bare bones capitalist. I have yet to meet someone that has been to both and said they would rather live in Mexico. Right now in our country we have more important issues than what programs are good or bad for our people. We are slowly watching our Freedom and our Constitution being taken away from us. We need someone like Ron Paul now before we loose it all.

  • Matt

    SmokinJoe,

Not to come across as rude, but your post contradicts itself several times.

You want freedom, but also social programs? How can these go together?

“Mexico is bare bones capitalist.” Not even close.

Lot of different factors between Canada and Mexico, a lot.

But think about it. If you want ‘freedom’ how can you want social programs. Social programs are just a different label for ‘theft, slavery, taxation, government, stealing,’

Someone has to work/pay for a social program. Will there be ‘greedy people’ who hoard their wealth and let people die?

Yup. But you have forgotten the broken-window fallacy.

How much does the government TRULY cost for these ‘social programs.’

    Everything has a cost.

I am guessing what you mean is you want some security (aka social programs) but freedom in other areas.

sure, we all want our cake and to eat it too. That being said private charity will always trump government because the private charity has an incentive and wants a return on their time, money, activity, goals, etc, instead of subsidizing the problem to buy votes.
