Emmerdale actor Ronald Magill, who starred in the ITV soap for 19 years, has sadly passed away at age of 87.

Ronald who played the part of Amos Brearly, joined the programme in 1972 when it was known as Emmerdale Farm.

Ronald was originally from Hull, and began his acting career at the Nottingham Playhouse, where he returned later in his career to be named artistic director.
