Toshiba, Samsung and Apple iPod classic all announce 1.8-inch 80GB & 160GB disks

I am not going to make too many assumptions about who has the better hardware, but the details on Samsung’s 160GB MK1626GCB are a mini 54 × 71 × 8-mm, portable device-friendly CE-ATA interface, 15-ms mean seek time, a 66MBps transfer rate, 3,600rpm and 2x 80GB platters.
The discussion can be left to you about the differences between each brands hardware, but its still early days to get a real insight.
