Ryan Phillipe and Sean Bean Star In Viking Movie, Last Battle Dreamer

Generally, Viking movies suck at the Box Office. But surely the big unstoppable pillaging machines with horned helmets and bushy beards deserve a decent film tribute? Well, their wishes are just about to be granted with a little help from Ryan Phillippe, Sean Bean and Abbie Cornish.

Director Menno Meyjes is set to make Last Battle Dreamer, a movie set in the 7th century about a Viking warrior called Thorfinn (Phillippe) who invades Britain with his battle-scarred older brother Hakon (Bean).

No more details about the plot have been released yet, but Meyjes describes the film as “a love story written in fire and blood”.

Filming starts later this year.
