New iPod Touch Video: flash based 16GB portable media player

Some people are wondering why the player has just 16GB of storage while their current iPod has much more than this, the reason is because the new iPod Touch is flash based.
This kind of storage gives you a much longer battery life, is very durable and costs around double for the flash storage, other users are expressing there views with comments like “do we really need a new overpriced model every 8 months?” and “can’t even play a simple .avi video”.
I guess it comes down to wanting the latest technology, as flash based storage has many more benefits but will cost you more per GB (around $600 for a 32GB flash drive).
If you do not mind the current file formats on the Apple iPod then that’s fine, but if you do not like a media player that is very limited in its file formats then the iPod Touch may not be for you.
