Although Hurricane Henriette is a Category 1 storm it is still pounding Mexico, and the heavy rain and wind that it is bringing is ruining large corn and tomato crops. Although Henriette is a weak storm with winds speeds up to 75mph, it still managed to kill seven people while it was on route to the Pacific coast.
Costal surges of up to five feet were warned by the U.S. National Hurricane Center, they also warned that downpours of up to twelve inches could hit the mountainous areas. There has been no change in the strength of Hurricane Henriette, but once the storm hits the mainland of Mexico then the strength should start to weaken.
