ControlThink, a member of the Z-Wave Alliance, announced its new ThinkRemote platform at CEDIA today. ThinkRemote provides PC and accessory manufacturers with the ability to create mass-market Microsoft Windows SideShow-enabled remote controls using Z-Wave home automation technology.
Supporting all Windows SideShow gadgets, the ThinkRemote platform delivers information such as weather, stock quotes and email to anywhere around the home and can communicate with any other Z-Wave enabled devices, such as lights, blinds, thermostats, and security and entertainment devices.
Two hardware partners, PiTech and CWTek, are already developing remote controls and other devices utilizing the ThinkRemote platform. These products are expected to be available for consumers in late 2007 or early 2008
