Scarlett Johansson To Star In Diamond Heist Movie ‘Brilliance’

Scarlett Johansson has joined with music video director Samuel Bayer (Justin Timberlake’s What Goes Around..Comes Around) to make an action packed heist film.

The film, titled ‘Brilliance’ follows the story of diamond thieves and is set for a late 2008/early 2009 release. Speaking about the movie, director Samuel Bayer told MTV,

“It’s called ‘Brilliance’ and it’s about diamond thieves, and we start shooting this winter. So many things came together in all the right ways. It really was a case of ‘what goes around, comes around.’ In a good way. Scarlett is one of the sexiest actresses around, and she can just become her characters. Look at what she did during the Corvette scene, which a lot of people won’t catch. She was shooting that on a green screen, and right before we were rolling, she was laughing. We start, and she’s crying. It was just unbelievable. It’s stuff like that which makes you know someone’s a star.”

Hopefully this movie can bring Johansson back to her best. Her earlier films like Lost In Translation were fantastic but it’s been downhill since then - take The Nanny Diaries for example. Fingers crossed Brilliance will bring the ‘brilliance’ back in Scarlett.
