Mattel UK Recall Seven Barbie Playsets

MATTEL UK has announced today it is recalling Barbie playsets that may contain excessive amounts of lead paint.
The world’s largest toy maker has already had two high-profile recalls this summer this time though the toys being recalled by Mattel UK are seven Barbie playset accessories. No Barbie dolls are included in the recall.
Toys on sale in the UK affected by the recall are as follows:
Barbie Dream Puppy House Playset
Barbie Dream Kitty Condo Playset
Barbie Table & Chairs Kitchen Playset
Barbie Bathtub & Toilet Bathroom Playset
Barbie Futon & Table Living Room Playset
Barbie Desk & Chair Bedroom Playset
Barbie Couch & Table Living Room Playset
It says the recall is due to a continuing investigation of its toys manufactured by vendors in China following two high-profile recalls this year involving Chinese-manufactured toys.
Globally the firm is recalling 700,000 toys that have excessive amounts of lead paint.
The playsets affected by today’s recall were produced by Holder Plastic Company Holder, a Mattel contract vendor, which sub-contracted the painting of miniature toy pets and small furniture pieces to Dong Lian Fa (DLF) and Yip Sing (YS). DLF and YS used uncertified paint and are no longer producing toys for Mattel.
