Aftermarket tuners Saleen fined $700k for selling uncertified cars in California
Aftermarket tuners Saleen has been fined $700k by the California Air Resources Board, this massive $700,000 fine has been set as Saleen have been making non-compliant changes to three of their vehicles that they have modified. The three cars in question are the Mustang S281, Focus S121 and the Focus N20; these three cars have been altered and were found to be illegal under ARB guidelines.

Saleen were fined because they altered the emission control system on the Ford Focus N20, they then made the changes on the other two without getting them certified. However both the Mustang S281, Focus S121 have now been certified for use in California, but the Focus N20 has to be recalled then reconfigured.

ARB is hoping that this fine will act as a deterrent for other aftermarket tuners, just like Saleen.
