Lincoln Mark LT pickup 2008 to be the last model

The thing is Ford had set a target of 20,000 units but the reality was only 12,753 vehicles were only sold by the end of last year and it is feared that the sales figures for this year are even worse. One reason that sales figures are falling is that consumers are not buying as many trucks as they once was, this is because fuel is going up and we are also trying hard to become greener as a nation and a fuel hungry Pickup is not the way forward.
Many think that the main reason for Ford to pull the plug on the Lincoln Mark LT is that this SUV was heavily based on the F-150 which is also made in the same plant, and as Ford are planning on a restyle and engineering upgrade for the 2009 Ford F-150 and also a top of the line Platinum working on the Lincoln Mark LT just take up to much of their time and resources.
