Toyota Vanguard Crossover: stretched RAV4 with 7 seats

The Vanguard was launched in Tokyo yesterday and has a choice of two engines, these are the 2.4liter 2AZ-FE and the 3.5liter 2GR-FE, there is also two types of transmission these are the 5 Super ECT and the 7-speed Super CVTi. Toyota is calling the new Vanguard a luxury-class mid-size SUV, but we will call it a CUV. The RAV4 has been very popular and it seems as if Toyota has made yet another great vehicle that will do very well in that market.
Although this is a 7-seater you still have to remember that the seats on the third row are very cramped, but buyers will not be put off by that. There is no word if and when the Vanguard will make it over to the U.S; many believe that if it was then it would be in Lexus livery instead, as it would be able to compete with vehicles in that market more easily.
