Cloverfield/1-18-08 Plot Spoilers?

JJ Abrams produced Monster Movie, Cloverfield/1-18-08 has got every film site trying to get more and more information about the film. The buzz surrounding Cloverfield is phenomenal. Not many scoops have emerged as of yet, but AintItCool has finally delivered some very, very interesting news.

An e-mail tipper who is simply names DJ has confirmed that the teaser trailer footage is actually in the film, although more unabridged. DJ continues to say that a new scene could well be used for a second movie trailer. The scene shows “traumatized survivors, moving through a very dark corridor. There’s slight cold blue illumination from halogen emergency lighting, a girl in the group is badly beaten up she’s bleeding and looks very sickly.“

The main group is said to ‘limp along until US Army soldiers storm in shouting at them, demanding they drop their weapons. They shout back claiming they are unarmed. Commotion follows. Then the group are herded up some E.T style scientific tubing into a makeshift aid centre. The scene is very dark, with lots of doctors tending to wounded military. The group ask “What is that thing?” only to receive a cryptic answer from a solider “We don’t know, but it’s winning”.

The scoop contines,

“Rob tries to leave. Apparently his girlfriend got lost in the mix (this is probably what much of the story is about - finding his girlfriend in all this craziness. The sick girl mutters “I feel really sick”, “the camera pans to her, she looks like she’s about to throw up, and curiously is crying blood from her right eye. Someone shouts ‘She’s been bitten!’ Chaos ensues… Scene end.”

The scene looks cool, although the whole soldier saying ‘drop your weapons’ is kind of lame. Also the girl who was bitten confirms that there are little monster creatures in the movie too.

Now, with scoops we need to take all the above with a pinch of salt. This is the first decent piece of information we’ve had for a while, so JJ Abrams needs to step it up otherwise the buzz will die down and no one will actually care anymore.
