Salmonella in spinach prompts recall

The spinach that has been recalled was distributed In 48 states as well as Canada, the recall covers 8,118 cases of spinach, the company has said that over 90 percent of their bagged spinach was on hold and will not be released.
Although only a single sample from three bags of spinach was found to have salmonella, Metz Fresh LLC said that as a precautionary measure they decided to recall all of the spinach. In the recall it covers the 10- and 16-ounce bags; also the recall covers the 4-pound cartons and also the cartons that contain four 2.5-pound bags.
