Dwayne Johnson Wants To Escape to Witch Mountain

Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) has signed on to appear in the Disney remake of the 1975 film Escape to Witch Mountain. The film is based on the sci-fi novel by Alexander Key and follows the story of two mysterious orphaned children who have extraordinary powers and are chased by a scheming millionaire with plans to expolit them.

It seems like Dwayne has gone from one Disney family comedy (The Game) to another so I’m confused. I was certain that Johnson wanted to become this huge action hero but is now starring in kid films? Now, I’m all for kids movies, I think they’re great but if you want to be a super macho action hero, stick to that genre otherwise it could be the kiss of death (just look at Arnie!).

Andy Fickman (She’s The Man, The Game Plan) is attached to direct the movie.
