Despite previous injury worries, British tennis ace Andy Murray has made it into the second round of the US Open 2007 tennis tournament, beating his first round opponent in less than 2 hours. The 20 year old beat the Uruguayan Cuevas 6-2 6-3 6-0, who was playing in his very first match of any kind at ATP Tour level. The Scottish player didn’t seem to be worried about his wrist injury, which had limited him to only 3 matches since May. He commented, saying “It’s quite hard to describe but when you don’t play for such a long time at an acceptable level it’s quite tough to stay positive.” He says that with each game his tennis confidence will grow, and in particular his forehand shot is something he will be working on. In the next round he will be playing Jonas Bjorkman.
Do you think Murray will be able to win the Open this year?
