Owen Wilson In The Darjeeling Limited: Exclusive Behind The Scenes Videos

Four behind the scenes videos for Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited has been released by Fox Searchlight. The movie hits theatres on September 29th 2007. It’s strange that they chose to release the clips on the same day as the coverage of Owen Wilson’s alleged attempted suicide was released but, aside from that, these clips are priceless and I can’t wait to check out the film.
Below are the synopsis’ for the four clips, which were written by Wes Anderson himself! Click the titles to be taken to the video.
Behind The Darjeeling Limited - On the Motorcycle: “In India, motorcycles always carry at least three passengers on any given ride, and often an entire family. Our favorite brand is called the Hero Honda.”
Behind The Darjeeling Limited - The Caboose: “There are no longer cabooses on passenger trains in India (or anywhere else for that matter?), so our production designer Mark Friedberg built one. We shot these scenes near our workshop in Jodphur.”
Behind The Darjeeling Limited - 1000 Bulls: “We started our shoot in
the middle of one of the busiest and least accessible (by anything other than bicycle or auto-rickshaw) parts of Jodphur. Luckily, our key grip Sanjay Sami introduced us to his “rickshaw dolly” which became our favorite piece of equipment.”
Behind The Darjeeling Limited - The Lost Train: “You are never alone in India. Even in the middle of the most remote desert, if you take a careful look, you will find that there are people and animals around you somewhere. This scene was shot on top of a high dune near a village called Osian.”
