Five years ago Joelle Ogletree was teaching at Glen Rose High School in Texas when she was accused of having sex with three students, Ogletree has always maintained her innocence and she even refused her prosecutor’s plea deal. Over time one of the students admitted to lying and the other two students were discredited.
It now seems that Joelle Ogletree is fighting back, and is now in the process of suing the school district for wrongful termination. Her lawyer Henry Jones has said that “We’re not going away. We’re going to seek justice.” He then went on to say that “They just rushed to judgment without any notice of who her accusers were, what the accusations were. They fired her in a couple of days.”
Is Joelle Ogletree right to sue the school district?

I fully believe that Joelle has every right to sue the school district. There is a such thing a innocent until proven guilty. Based on the information I have received, the school terminated her based on what 3 young boys said. They should have suspended her until the case was decided in a court of law. As someone who also grew up there, I can tell you there is a lot of weight thrown around based on who your parents are or are not. The school district never should have based their decision on what those boys said, regardless of whether or not they are the son of a real estate developer or the former mayor’s son.
