Melbourne Cup Will Go Ahead Despite Horse Racing Influenza
By: Daniel Chubb | August 27, 2007 | Leave a CommentAccording to Racing Victoria, the famous horse racing event Melbourne Cup, will go ahead even if influenza rules out more interstate race horses.
However the agriculture minister, Peter McGauran, thought that some of races should be delayed and he thought it would be a “miracle” if the Melbourne Cup went ahead.
But the chairman of Racing Victoria, Graeme Duff, thinks that illness shouldn’t stop great sports events saying:
“My view would be that there are always those sorts of things — horses that break down or are injured — but the carnival still goes on.”
Do you think the Melbourne Cup will go ahead?
If the Melbourne Cup does go ahead, how good will it be?
