Cecil Cooper interim manager for Houston Astros: Phil Garner and Tim Purpura fired

The Houston Astros have announced that Cecil Cooper will be the interim manager for the team after Phil Garner was fired; the team has also fired general manager Tim Purpura and has given the job to Tal Smith. Garner has been the manager for the baseball team since 2004 and although they had some success they is a long way of this year as they are now in fifth place.

Phil Garner did a lot for The Houston Astros team in 2005, but the success was short lived which is why the team have now announced that Cecil Cooper will be the new interim manager, it is not known how long he will hold the position for.
