It has now been confirmed by Maxis that there are plans to develop a version of Spore for consoles like the Xbox 360, Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii, although they also said that they will not release them alongside the PC and DS versions.
The news was broke during a behind closed doors demo of the game at this week’s Leipzig GC.
Someone asked Maxis exec Patrick Buechener whether Spore will hit consoles and he said “Not right now, but we see this as a franchise.” And also followed with “It just won’t be at launch.”
The Nintendo Wii could do good things with this game, it would not need amazing graphics and the Wii’s control system would be fun while you evolve a single celled organism into a complex creature and eventually an entire civilisation.

wow I’d love to play SPORE on my wii. they seem like a perfect fit if you ask me, they copuld still do creature sharing and what not with wiiconnect24. wii is the shiznit
