NFL Bans Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick From Playing Football
August 25, 2007 | Filed under News, Sports News
The NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell has announced that the Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick is now suspended from playing football in the NFL.
The length of Michael Vick’s ban is not yet know, but it will probably depend on the outcome from the court case involving Michael Vick and the dogfighting charges.
Arthur Blank, the owner of the Atlanta Falcons, issued an statement after Michael Vick entered a guilty plea:
“Today, Michael Vick admitted his guilt to very serious charges related to his earlier indictment. His admissions describe actions that are incomprehensible and unacceptable for a member of the National Football League and the Atlanta Falcons.”
“We respect and support the Commissioner’s decision today to place Michael Vick on an indefinite suspension. As with other actions he has taken this year, the Commissioner is making a strong statement that conduct which tarnishes the good reputation of the NFL will not be tolerated.”
“We hope that Michael will use this time, not only to further address his legal matters, but to take positive steps to improve his personal life.”
What do you think about Michael Vick being suspended from the NFL?
I think people forget what a great football player Michael Vick is, just take a look at the video below….

“The saddest thing in life is wasted talent, and the choices that you make will shape your life forever!”
-A Bronx Tale-
Michael Vick was never a great football player. He could run and throw a short-ball. He never became accurate enough with the long-ball to live up to a good quarterback.
I believe in forgiveness, but I do believe in consequences. Moses received a consequence for his actions in the Bible. For doubting God, he was no longer able to live in the promised land when they reached it.
Without comparing Michael Vick to Moses I believe in the principle. Michael Vick should never be allowed to play football. Cain was cast away into his own land for murder, this case is no different. Murder is a psychological action. Anyone willing to kill anything, can in fact kill anything.
Knowing some members of Peta, they are usually indifferent to human suffering, for instance, partial birth abortion. Show some compassion for innocent children as well as dogs.
How Vick could kill such beautiful dogs is inconceivable to me. The pit bull is so sweet and naturally subservient to man. Even while Vick was killing the dog he was probably wagging his tail. Vick is a sadistic sociopath and the only way kids won’t emulate him is if he is made an example of in this landmark case–which hopefully will start a humane revolution in this country.
It is not true that if you care for dogs you don’t care for people. I am very against partial birth abortion. But by people always deflecting to people problems nothing much gets done for the poor voiceless creatures. We must be the voice of the voiceless or our furry friends stay grossly abused. The fact is cruelty to animals is far more prevalent and taken-for-granted as “normal” and someone has to stand up for them. If we teach EDUCATION OF THE HEART in the schools (be kind to animals) the kids will naturally be kind to people (especially helpless babies) too. EDUCATION OF THE HEART is across-the-board: cruelty to animals in childhood (or indifference to their suffering) begins a life of criminality through the process of desensitization.
