John Singleton who is the director of “Boyz in the Hood,” was involved in a fatal accident on Thursday night in Los Angeles.
It has been reported by the LAPD officers that John was driving his 2001 Lexus SUV about 8:00 p.m. on a Los Angeles street when a female pedestrian, not in a crosswalk, suddenly stepped out in front of his car.
The Police have said that John immediately stopped and waited for police and ambulances to arrive.
The pedestrian was a 57 year old woman who has been identified as Constance Russell of Los Angeles.
She was taken to a nearby hospital but she unfortunately died Friday morning.
The police have said that John was not speeding at the time and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The police have said that their investigation has concluded and they’ve determined that this is a “very, very unfortunate accident.”
Our thoughts go out to her family and also to John as it must have been a shock to him.
