Hole in the Universe: our little world and lives have no idea

The news that astronomers have found a hole in the universe that measures 1 billion light years across (give or take a few million) makes our little world and lives seem so small.
We have no idea or control over why this hole is in the universe or what could happen because of it, that’s open to discussion.
All astronomers can do is scratch their heads about it and what’s just not there in this blank spot (maybe Q from Star Trek has something to-do with it).
The expanse is around 6 billion trillion miles of nothing (emptiness), Minnesota astronomy professor Lawrence Rudnick said “This is 1,000 times the volume of what we sort of expected to see in terms of a typical void”.

The void is around 5 to 10 billion light years away.
