Connellsville PA Police Department all electric Chevy Impala
When it comes to the environment and the nation as a whole becoming greener the U.S should lead by example and that is what they have set about doing just look at the Connellsville, PA Police Department. One of their patrol cars is an electric Chevy Impala; this 2000 cruiser has been converted in to an all-electric vehicle. The company who is responsible for this conversion is United First Responders LLC; they will now monitor the car over the next two years.

This green vehicle will be able to run for the full 8 hours of its shift on just one charge, the vehicle will take just two hours to charge just by using a 240-volt outlet. This all electric Chevy Impala police car is a step in the right direction for the environment, as it only cost 35 cents to run for its 8-hour shift compared to $3 to $4 dollars for a gas powered version. The car is great for police work as the electric vehicle is very quiet, but the only downside is the fact that the car will not work in heavy rain as it could damage the electrical circuits. But no doubt this is one of the first things that United First Responders LLC will fix.

and my question is, being that this is a 2000 model WHY THE HELL DID THIS NOT HAPPEN SOONER??? and furthermore, WHY WAS THIS NOT DONE WITH A TRANSIT BUS???, and why is this company suffering enough STONEWALLING that they can only produce so little at a time, the technology is 50 years old, the basis is actually 100 years+ old!!! it is ridiculous, i guess a cop car is a great test bed as it sees an insane amount of miles and different conditions, so yes, this is good, LATE AS HELL but a good move, a travesty if it is only used for traffic station printing, if this vehicle is a real tool for law enforcement and real criminals get put away, then it is good use. the officers entrusted with the testing and use of this technology, i pray see this as a privilege to be in the developing phase of the future.
