Florida’s No-Fault Auto Insurance Law
By: Daniel Chubb | August 23, 2007 | Leave a CommentIt seems that we are seeing the final days on Florida’s no-fault auto insurance law.
Leaders of the Senate did not seems very keen to approve proposal from Republicans that would put a limit on attorneys’ fees while trying to eliminate fraud and reduce medical costs from car accidents, in relations to car insurance claims..
The lead insurance negotiator in the chamber, Sen. Bill Posey, said that:
“I don’t think the Senate will pass out a bill that so dramatically changes the no-fault system,”
“There is nothing in here that is really bad on its own, but we won’t be able to get consensus.”
If this deadlock in political negotiations remains in place, it means that insurance users in Florida may be able to pay less for their auto insurance but insurance user could also go to court to determine how much car insurance should pay for medical costs in an accident.
What do you think the government should do about this car insurance issue?
