Even with Beckham, England still lose to Germany

It seems that even with the help of new L.A Galaxy arrival David Beckham, England still can’t beat Germany at soccer!
The hosts took an early lead in today’s soccer match, when England’s Frank Lampard brought the score to 1-0 in the new sold out £800million Wembley Stadium. However, this success was short lived as Germany’s star Kevin Kuranyi tapped in a ball directed by Bernd Schneider, due to a fumbled save by England’s Paul Robinson.

England had several chances to gain the lead again, including a free kick by England hero David Beckham, who recently signed for LA Galaxy, which was tapped on by Manchester United’s Alan Smith towards John Terry. However, bad accuracy meant this was to no avail.

England suffered another set-back by upcoming German star Christian Pander on his international soccer debut, who scored with a powerful left foot strike to give Germany a lead of 2-1, and to eventually win the game for the German team.

With two crucial Euro 2008 qualifying games in the near future, we have to ask ourselves, will England will ever be the great soccer team they once were?
