Nintendo Wii vs what? There is no competition

August 22, 2007 | Filed under Gaming, Nintendo Wii

Nintendo Wii
Just the other day I posted about getting a Sony PS3, you can read more about that here (basically I own a Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 and was thinking of getting a Playstation 3 for Blu-ray).

The feedback was very helpful and thanks to all that left a comment, but I was thinking about the Nintendo Wii again after I had a few people over and we played for hours on it.

The Nintendo Wii really has no competition as it’s in a totally different league.

I got up today and have been playing Ghost Recon 2 on the 360 and had a good time, but the Nintendo Wii could not give me that kind of gaming as it’s not meant too.

The Sony PS3 and the Xbox 360 are competitors, but the Nintendo Wii is second to none for gaming with a group of people in the same room (the amount of fun is fantastic, well that depends who you play with).

My opinion is most gamers should get a Nintendo Wii and a high graphics gaming system (360 or PS3).

I feel currently the Nintendo Wii has no other console aiming at its market or that could compete with its kind of gaming.

Agreed. I have been out of gaming for awhile as I did not have the time to play games beginning with the N64. I decided to buy a Wii at the beginning of this year and I love it. Just this weekend I decided to get a 360, simply for playing NCAA Football ‘08. It’s a great machine, but different than the Wii. I love the Xbox 360 and I love the Wii, but for 2, separate reasons. Playing Madden on the Wii is a different type of fun than it is on the Xbox.

I got a Wii the day they game out. It mostly collects dust now. It’s fun and I like but the replay value is low for me. I really only end up playing it when a group of people that don’t own one come over. Most of my friends have one and they really don’t play it. All of the games are very similar to me and the appeal of the Wii mote gets lost since every game seems to mirror the same movement requirements.

Don’t get me wrong I can’t wait for Mario Kart, Mario Sunshine,Nights, etc but it’s becoming just like the Gamecube again. First party titles are awesome most third party titles fall short. I hope this changes.

I play my PS3 all the time and I wish I had a game for the Wii to play all the time too. After Zelda I just had nothing.

well give it time, give it time, most developers wrote the wii off as another gamecube up until 6 months ago, some still are, but its starting to get a lot better, i mean spore on the wii should be fantastic! a lot of my mates have wii’s and it really is excellent, i dont play it for hours like i did my ps2, but i do play it more, and whenever friends come round if it isnt Guitar Hero 2 its Wii sports, its been 8 months! and still not sick or tired of it
