India and Japan Set To Strengthen Ties In  Strategic Partnership

The Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, has stressed the need for India and Japan to have closer ties in business and it politics.

The PM of Japan described India as a “partner and friend” and he is due to hold talks with the Indian PM Manmohan Singh.

The Japan – India talks that are coming up are expected to be about trade, with the aim of the meeting being to double bilateral trade between India and Japan.

However India and Japan are also going to hold talks over nuclear issues.

Many people say that Japan and India and moving closer together in order to compete with China.
