Sanjay Dutt

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was released on bail by India’s Supreme Court yesterday, citing a technicality weeks after he was convicted for illegally possessing guns which were ties to the 1993 bombings in Mumbai where a mammoth 257 people were killed.

Dutt has gained bail because the Mumbai court that convicted him hadn’t provided him with a copy of his sentence. Sanjay was convicted way back in November and sentenced on July 31st of this year to six years in prison for possessing a pistol and three automatic rifles. He was acquitted of the serious terrorism charges.

Sanjay Dutt is continuing to appeal against the sentence.

What do you think about Sanjay’s conviction? Is it rightfully deserved?
