Attorney to lead review of NBA officials

“There is nothing as important as the integrity of our game and the covenant we have with our fans.”
These were the words given by NBA Commissioner David Stern on the subject of referee Tim Donaghy, who recently admitted guilty to betting on games, some of which he actually worked in. He also pleaded guilty to informing others with inside information, in a scandal which has left the NBA with a pending review of its policies regarding gambling and its match officials.
The NBA have chosen former federal prosecutor Lawrence B. Pedowitz to conduct the review, and alongside his New York law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz will study the NBA’s efforts against gambling and cheating.
Superstars such as Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant and 2006 Player of the Year award winner Steve Nash are all expected to be questioned by Pedowitz and his team, as well as other referees, coaches and league personnel.
So with the current scandal looming over the heads of the NBA, do you think this will taint its image as a fair and honest basketball league?
