Saddam Hussein’s cousin and 14 other former regime officials on trial in Baghdad

The cousin of the infamous Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, and 14 other former Iraqi government officials went on trial today in Bagdad, Iraq.

The group is on trial for crimes against humanity for their role in the brutal suppression of a Shia revolt in 1991.

In an earlier trial of a former Iraqi official, Ali Hassan al-Majid, known as “Chemical Ali”, and two of his colleagues were sentenced to death for a military campaign against Kurds in northern Iraq in 1988.

Do you think justice is being carried out in Iraq at the moment?
