Only hours ago Hurricane Dean was a Category 5 storm as it slammed in to Mexico, but now it has now weakened in to a Category 3. The storm plowed into the coast of Mexico with the highest category which is a 5, the winds approached near 165mph and were heading for the Yucatan peninsula, but now winds have slowed to 125mph.
It now seems as if Hurricane Dean has weakened as it finished pounding Mexico, and the people near the Yucatan peninsula have something to be thankful for as their onslaught for Hurricane Dean will not be as intense as they first thought.
But we have to remember that this could in fact be the calm before the storm, as hurricanes do have a tendency to weaken the buildup strength one more.
Once we have more information, we will be the first to let you know.
