Bush Meets Other North American Leaders In Canadian Resort

President George Bush has begun a two-day visit to Montebello in Quebec to meet with the other North American leaders, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon.
The summit is designed to discuss trade and security co-operation within the three countries. The talks are part of a “Security and Prosperity Partnership” launched by the three countries in 2005.
President George Bush and Prime Minister Stephen Harper are also set to discuss the current position in Afghanistan, as both countries have sent troops to the region. Mr. Harper will continue to insist on Canada’s claim to part resource-rich Arctic Ocean, which the United States, Norway, Russia and Denmark insist is rightfully theirs.
Mr. Bush and President Felipe Calderon will be in talks regarding Mexican immigration and drug-trafficking across the border.
Many critics of the summit say the talks are not transparent enough, and will not reflect the rights of ordinary people.
