StopTech develops new carbon ceramic brake system
We all got excited when we see the Callaway C16 Speedster being debuted at Pebble Beach Week 2007, but one of the companies who helped work on the braking system excited too. StopTech wanted too show of their carbon ceramic brake system which helps to stop this 700 HP, 210 MPH C16 Speedster.

When you hit the brakes in the Callaway C16 Speedster it does feel as if your lungs are going to pop out, but then again these carbon ceramic brake system are going to be the brakes of choice when you purchase your new Callaway C16 Speedster. The braking system in the front consists of 15-inch rotors which has six-pistons and calipers, while the brake brakes consist of 14-inch rotors which have four-pistons.

As the brakes are made from carbon fiber, which are mated to magnesium Dymag wheels, they are some much lighter than the usual aluminum wheel and iron rotor setup. What makes the StopTech so different to other carbon-ceramics on the market are that they use a continuous fiber construction on their discs, instead of the usual chopped fibers this makes them so much stronger.

There are to be a variety of rotor sizes, these are 332mm, 355mm, and 380mm, and customers who already own sports cars like are able to upgrade to the new StopTech carbon ceramic brake system.
