Scarlett Johansson Is To Star In Frank Miller’s The Spirit

Sexy Siren Scarlett Johansson is the final stages of negotiations to star as the femme fatale in Frank Miller’s (Sin City, 300) big screen adaptation of Will Eisner’s The Spirit. Johansson is also signed onto star in Mary Queen of Scots and Into You.

Johansson is set to play Silk N. Floss, a deadly beauty that THR has described as “a sexy and intelligent secretary with a vindictive instinct that makes her the perfect accomplice to the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson), an evil mastermind.”

Eisner’s comic strip has women with curves and Scarlett Johansson certainly has that. Her beauty teamed with her acting talent (we’ll ignore her role in The Nanny Diaries) is sure to knock us dead when The Spirit is released.

The movie follows a detective (Gabriel Macht) who fakes his own death to fight crime in Central City as the masked avenger. The Spirit starts filming in October with aims for a late 2009 release.
