Cowell defends Lewis’ chart absence
Simon Cowell has defended Leona Lewis absence from the charts since she won The X Factor last year.

Leona who is 22 years old has been putting her debut album together with several high profile US producers which include Mariah Carey’s long term collaborator Walter Afanasieff since she won the TV show.

Simon has said that Leona’s LP will be worth the wait he said that “We’ve spent ten months in a recording studio with Leona in LA and England he went on to say that this album, in my opinion, is as good as early Whitney, early Mariah. I think it is a stunning record.

Louis Walsh added “It’s like early Mariah Carey. I think Leona’s the best female star from the UK in maybe 20 years.”

I must admit that she is a fantastic singer and I think that she will do very well in America as well as the UK.

What do you think will you be buying her album when it is released?

I was thinking “where is Leona?” just the other day, but now it makes sence as it does take time putting together a successful debut album.

That’s good. I would rather wait 5 years for this amazing artists album than a month, as it would be full of crappy covers. Can’t wait for the album, and I will by it straight away!!!!

I really like her one song, “Bleeding Love.” I believe it’s the only one released in the States. I’m so glad for her, and I’m certainly going to buy the album on April 8th.
