Sign Language Words: Communicate With Your Children Before They Can Talk

Classes for babies to learn sign language are springing up everywhere and are the latest craze in America and the UK.

I am used to the Sing and Sign programme which teaches and gives you gestures to help you communicate with your baby because my son cannot talk and he is 4 years old and we are in the process of learning Makaton Sign which is great.

Sing and sign is ment to be for babies between nine and 18 months but I beleave that a child of any age with speech problems will benefit from it my son has.

Children can learn more specific gestures to let you know what they want.
There are around 100 signs that relate to your childs world.

Baby signing is so much more then actions to nursery rhymes it can be very useful for your child let you know things like their teeth are hurting

As I said before my son uses Makaton sign and with out it communication with him would be very hard.

I would recommended it to anyone who has children because even my 9 year old daughter is learning it so she can communicate better with her brother.
