It seems as if we are being bombarded by hurricanes at the moment, but then again some of the most dangerous storms seem to form after August 15th. Erin reached the strength of a tropical storm sometime about mid-morning; it was created about 402 kilometers east of Brownsville, Texas.
The storm is only moving at about 19 kilometers an hour, the system also has sustained wind speeds of 64.37 per hour.
Tropical Storm Erin will hit land sometime tomorrow just south of Corpus Christi, Texas, where it is expected to drop at least 8-inches of rain.
The National Hurricane Center is closely watching Tropical Storm Dean, as it heads towards the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
