Tropical Storm Dean: will become hurricane at 74mph
By: Peter Chubb | August 15, 2007
Following on for our Tropical Storm Dean story, Tropical Storm Dean could very well become a hurricane this Wednesday, when it is expected to reach 74mph but as with all tropical storms it is just a guess at this time. While it is still too early to project where Dean is heading, the long-range projection sees the storm heading towards the Lesser Antilles, but might only form as a minimal hurricane.
If some of these projections are right, then Dean will be very close to the Dominican Republic this Saturday and Haiti on Sunday, early forecasts say that Hurricane Dean could reach speeds of up to 110mph.
Fears put the hurricane close to Florida on Tuesday, so residents have been asked to be alert.
