Courtesy of usbfever.com we have the chance to give the EasyCap Capture USB 2.0 video adapter with audio a full on hands on review, so sit back and read. Is this USB accessory a good one or a bad one? This review will contain an introduction, first impressions, good points and bad points then an overall summary. Below this post I have taken quite a few photos check them out.
Introduction – First of all what is an EasyCap Capture USB 2.0 video adapter? Well to break it down in simple terms and of course not to bore the hell out of you it is a USB gadget accessory that will capture high quality video and audio and you can capture this through USB 2.0 interface, you can even capture sound without the use of a sound card. The EasyCap Capture USB 2.0 video adapter with audio has support for all formats such as record in DVD+/-R/RW, DVD-Video and DVD+/-VR which is superb and also features support for Brightness, Saturation control, Contrast and Hue. What I love about the EasyCap Capture is that it is very simple to install because the external power is not needed. It supports NTSC, PAL and Video format which is a bonus.
Just so you know this product is getting our honest opinion, so if we think it is bad or good we will tell you without a doubt.
First Impressions – To tell you the truth when I received the EasyCap Capture USB 2.0 video adapter I was a little confused of what it was, in the package seemed like nothing special really until I got it out of the package that is. Looking at it for a few moments before doing anything because I wanted to get my head around it before reading the instructions inside, it is pretty small which means you can carry it around with you anywhere you go and is superb if you are a laptop user on the move. To tell you the truth the instructions are not needed really as this is an easy gadget to use. In the box you get obviously the EasyCap USB 2.0 DV / TV / VHS Video / DVD Audio-Video Capture Adaptor plus USB Cable and Quick Installation Guide and Software CD ROM.
The Good Points – The annoying part is that there are many good points, I love products that have good and the bad sides but this one seems to be up in the good point section, I would really recommend this USB device for capturing your best programs that you can share plus it captures internet conferences (now that is a bonus), it also supports multiple languages. I tried this EasyCap Capture gizmo and loved the fact that I could share my videos on YouTube with ease, just plug in your camcorder or what ever video gadget you have into the EasyCap then plug the USB end into your PC or laptop and hey presto it is plug and play time (so simple).
The Bad Points – OK let me think, hold on I am still thinking, will you give me a break I am still think. You know what for the first time I am stumped, I love to find faults with things but I honestly say from the bottom of my heart I cannot find one.
Overall Summary – I handed this around to the team and of which they all had it for one day each, they all came back praising it (damn them) but honestly this is fantastic I really do love the EasyCap Capture USB 2.0 video adapter with audio because it small enough to carry around, easy to use and very handy to have.
Now to the really good bit of which you can buy this baby for only US$36.99

I just bought that device, but my driver CD appeared to be damaged. Can anybody upload just the driver (not the software tools) to sendspace.com? Thanks in advance
it may seem good but only if you can get it to work
Mine has no sound and i dont have a clue how to fixit i have tried it on my normal pc and my laptop and both work ok with video but no soaund on capture or playback
help
when you get the window that says capture, go to the options and where it says sound hit the one for the other rather than where it is. You have to remember to do it each time.
Hi,
agian i think this qu has been asked before, but my pc doesnt pick up a signal when i plug the scart box into the back of my video player.
how do i fix this thankyou
EzyCap captures video, I downloaded and installed updated driver D60+. The capture is now working but Ulead 10 is not, it captures files then doesn’t recognise them and it’s unusable, I’ve wasted hours trying to get it to work. U-tube videos look good for those who can get it to work. Is there a patch for using winxp home sp3.
you have to take them to windows movie maker or something like that. Then after they are ready, go to where it says publish and that will take a while but they come as videos.

I have transfered an old camcorder tape home movie to my pc using easycap but the movie playsback on my pc with jerks that is the frame rate has changed. How do I correct it?
I have just installed the EasyCap on my laptop. No problem. So I connected it to my VCR as I want to burn vhs tapes on my computer. I get that I need to use Ulead for that purpose so I opened that program however I cannot see how to use Ulead for burning my VHS tapes on a DVD.
Can anyone explain the procedure to me?
Thanks
Hi Catherine,
I have just installed Easycap for the same reason as you - I want to put VHS tapes onto DVD format. I have installed the hardware and software ok, but despite trying everything cannot get it to capture the VHS video signal. I am using scart from the VHS machine to the USB lead (white to white, red to red & yellow to yellow) connectors. It’s driving me crazy! Any ideas? (Any advice anyone please email me).
Thanks
James
